Wordly Wise

Well, I've finished another part of my summer school work! Wordly Wise had, of course, something to do with words. (laughs) You learn words that you don't hear in everyday speech, and some that you hear but don't understand what they mean. (For example.... menagerie n. A Collection of animals kept in cages for showing to public.)
I have learned 300 words through Wordly Wise. That's quite a lot for just 20 lessons.
I'm glad I have one more subject off my list. Know I have more time for reading and such! :)

Book Poll

I did a poll on books and I'd really appreciate it if you would vote on it. I usually read two enjoyment books at a time and I'll be finished with Prince Caspian in about a week, so I need some idea's on what to read next. So, please vote on the poll that's on my sidebar.

A Wonderful Movie

Well, my mom and I watched this movie last night and it's awesome! I have seen it before but it was around three years ago, so when mom and I watched it again it was like watching it for the first time!! :) I would definitely recommend it. It's clean, well filmed, and well..... awesome.

I've not read the book so I'm wondering who has and what they thought about it. If your currently reading it, you have read it , or you have heard that it's really good, please let me know! :)

Verse of the Week

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own
understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths
straight.

A Young Woman's Walk with God chapter 2 #3 and 4

Defining Love- Love is "the Sacrifice of Self"
Love is the sacrifice of self. This simple definition crystallizes what the bible teaches about love. As love has been explained, love isn't an emotion. It is an act of self sacrifice. It is not necessarily feeling love toward particular person. God always defines biblical love in terms if self-sacrifice. It's obvious then that since love is the sacrifice of self,
~Love involves effort, not merely emotion.
~Love demands action, not just feelings.
~Love is something we do, not just something we only feel or say.

How are you doing when it comes to loving others the way God wants you to, when there not the nicest person you've met? Are you willing to give up what you want to do in order to do what God wants you to do?!

Living Out Love

When it comes to love it help to think of it as an assignment from God that I must do. Like caring for flowers in your flower bed. If you walk out to your flower bed and all the flowers are dying you need to water them. Even though you don't want to you need to. So, you water them and the next day there looking better. Sometimes we don't feel like ministering to others. When we don't feel that way we need to go to God and ask Him to help us. Then we will fell like helping others out! Don't try to show God love in your own strength. You need His strength!

I've Finished It

YEAH!!! I finished The Fellowship of the Ring!!!! :) (As you can see, I'm excited.) It was a VERY good book, and very well written. J.R.R. Tolkien has a wonderful imagination. This book is definitely going on my favorite's list. I'm going to start The Two Towers as soon as possible! I had considered stopping for a bit, but know that I've finished the first book I simply can't stop! :) Happy reading to y'all! :)
