Another Book

I finished The Hobbit! I'm know starting The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring! I REALLY enjoyed the hobbit so here's a review I did of it;
The Hobbit
Author: J.R.R. Tolkiens
Number of Pages: 306
Setting: Middle Earth
Who were the main characters:
Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Thorim and company.
INTRODUCTION- How does the book begin?
An unexpected party at Bilbo's house. On of which he's not o happy about.
CRISIS- What is the problem?
Smaug, a mean dragon, has killed many dwarves of Dale, and stolen all of there treasure. Thorin, a descendant of a king who was killed, has come to have his revenge and take back the treasure.
RISING ACTION- How do the characters begin to solve the problem?
By getting a burglar and riding for Dale.
CLIMAX- what is the turning point of the story?
They met a few unexpected stops on the way to Dale. Goblins, Wolves, Elves, Giant Spiders Etc.
FALLING ACTION- How is the problem finally solved?
I'm not going to answer this one. It might give it away to anyone that's reading it!
RESOLUTION- How does the story end?
I'm not going to answer this one. You'll have to read the book to find out! :)
If there was one thing you could change about the story, what would it be?
I'm not going to answer this one either. It would give the ending away!
Rate this book you just finished reading using this scale:
Best Ever
Great
Very Good
Good
Above Average
Average
Below Average
Awful
Worst Ever
I rated it Best Ever!
Why did you rate the book this way?
I love adventure books. This book is LOADED with adventure! It is also very well written.
So there ya go! Wish me luck on fast reading with The Fellowship of the Ring and the rest of the series. I'm sure I'll like it! Sorry for the long post.

Recipe

I know I said that I would do a recipe monthly, but I would like to do it more often! So here it goes;

This recipe cam out of a Goose Berry Patch recipe book for Church Suppers!

Roepke Family Casserole

Dana Roepke says:
"This is one of my family's favorites. My youngest daughter began making this when she was 7. She divided it into 2 casseroles, one for her grandparents and one for us! "

Ingredients:
1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
1c. oni0n, chopped
15-1/4 oz. can corn, drained
10-3/4 oz. can cream of chicken
10-3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
8- oz. container sour cream
3/4 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
3c. cooked extra wide egg noddles
1c. bread crumbs
3T. butter, melted
Directions:
Brown ground beef in large skillet over medium heat; add onion. Cook until tender; drain. Add corn, soups, sour cream, salt and pepper. Stir in noodles, spoon into a lightly greased 4-quart casserole dish. (13x9, that's what I used) Combine bread crumbs and melted butter in small bowl; sprinkle over top. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until golden. Serves 8 or 10. (For our church, it served a whole lot more)
If your church has an annual conference (or has meals ever Sunday), casseroles like Roepke Family Casserole are kid-friendly and so nice for sharing with families!

I made this for our church, and it was delicious!

Verse of the Week

Today's verse of the week is, all of Ruth! I know that's more than a couple of verse's, but you could NEVER get more than enough of God's wonderful word! I storngly suggest that you read it. I've been reading it this week, for my devotions. She was a VERY biblical woman. She is a virtues daughter-in-law. Next time you pick up your bible, read the book of Ruth! (As long as it's not in the middle of church :))

Ugh, I'm sick!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been sick. It's nothing serous like the Flu, or Pneumonia. It's just a soar throat, lots of sneezing, and a little fever. I HATE BEING SICK! I've gotten behind on my school work, chores, and blogging. I'm not the only one getting sick, my mom isn't like peaches and cream either! I'll try to post more.
