I haven't done a Lord of the Rings post in a while so I will post my thoughts on Eowyn and Arwen. Please remember that this isn't an argument... I'm simply stating what I think.
I'll start with Eowyn.
Eowyn is a strong, courageous, beautiful, stubborn, kind, loving, and so much more type of woman. Here are the things I like about her.... I like her modest clothing. I like her courage. I like her kindness. Here are the things I don't like about her..... I don't like her feminist role. I don't like that she doesn't know how to be a keeper at home. I don't like her impurity.
Now for Arwen.
Arwen is a loving, beautiful, kind, gracious, brave, pure, hopeful, willing, and so much more type of woman. Here are the things I like about her. I like her gracious, kind, pure, and feminine spirit. I like her hopeful outlook. I like her bravery and willingness. Here are the things I don't like about her. I don't like her immodest clothing. I don't like her crybaby kind of attitude.
I like both Eowyn and Arwen. There are things I like and dislike about both. Please share your opinion in a loving Christlike manner. I would love to hear your thoughts.

completely agree!
but Arwen isn't a crybaby in the book. :P just in the movie.
I would like to know how Arwen could be considered a crybaby, I mean maybe it's just me, but I think I would cry as well if I didn't think I would ever see the man I loved again.:) I'm not being trying to be mean I'm just asking a question.
What do you mean by "impurity"? Also, Eowyn DOES learn to become a keeper at home, when she marries Faramir (see the Houses of Healing chapter). :)
Interesting... (I have never seen the movies....)
I also would like to know how Arwen could be considered a crybaby
Also when and in which movie did either of them dress immodestly???
ok if you would please answer these questions i would be VERY happy!
lol ok i will see you Sunday!
I've tagged you!
First off, thank you all for commenting. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. Secondly, I think pretty much everyone that commented asked why I think Arwen is a crybaby. Well, she is sad throughout all three movies. Except at the end of The Return of the King. She's crying almost every time you see her. I understand that it was in the midst of evil times, but Eowyn wasn't always crying.
I hope I helped you understand. Thinking of Arwen as a crybaby doesn't lessen my liking her.
Opps... I forgot to answer the impurity and immodesty questions... sorry!
First, the impurity-
Eowyn tried to get Aragorn to love her.. knowing that there was someone else. She gave her heart away and in return it was broken, because Aragorn didn't love her.
Second, the immodesty-
Arwen's dresses are very low cut in all the movies.
I hope I answered your questions. If I didn't please let me know.
I have not seen or read LOTR but your likes and dislikes sound like what I like and dislike in a lady...if that makes any sense..;)
Also, I just finished reading the Kingdom Series. They were so good! I'm going to make a tag, soon, and was wondering if you know anyone else (in the blog world) who has read the books, so that I could tag them too. (what a run-on!)
Hope you are well and enjoying the school year!
Nana
I like Arwen because she acts like a lady, yet will go the hard and uncertain way. But I like Eowyn because she is unafraid and ready to defend the good. But I think I like Arwen the best because she gave up a life of ease with her people to stay behind for the man she loved. But I don't think Eowyn was at fault for loving Aragorn, because when she asked him who gave him that jewel, he said it was a woman who was sailing for the East, or something. So I think she thought him fair game.
