Books

I know I've been posting about books quite a lot lately. I promise I'll post about something else soon. :-)

In my last book post I was reading Simple Secrets to a Beautiful Home by Emilie Barnes, The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, Before You Meet Prince Charming by Sarah Mally, Sir Kendrick by Chuck Black, Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke, A Young Woman's Call to Prayer by Elizabeth George, and Ida Scudder by Janet and Geoff Benge.

Since then I have read The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott. Now I'm reading;

The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis. I've read all but two of The Chronicles of Narnia books. I hope to finish the Chronicles soon. :-)

I finished Before You Meet Prince Charming and will be starting So Much More by Anna Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin. I've heard that So Much More is really good. I can't wait to start it!

I also finished Ida Scudder and have started Rowland Bingham by Janet and Geoff Benge. I really like biographies and this one sounds very promising! :-)

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. I have been reading The Lord of the Rings for a curriculum called Literary Lessons from The Lord of the Rings. It's by far my favorite subject! I am almost done with The Fellowship of the Ring.

A Young Woman's Call to Prayer by Elizabeth George. I read A Young Woman's Walk with God and enjoyed it very much so I could resist reading A Young Woman's Call to Prayer.

Sir Bentley by Chuck Black. My Mom and I finished Sir Kendrick and have started Sir Bentley. We have really enjoyed reading these books together!

Raising Maidens of Virtue by Stacy McDonald. My Mom and I have also been reading this book together. It is very good! :-)

all look like wonderful books. i've read most of them. I've been wanting to read "The Inheritance" by Louisa My Alcott, but i haven't been able to find it. Is it part of a collection of short stories?
The movie is pretty good too. It's on youtube. here is the link:

Dear Moriah,
The Silver Chair is my FAVORITE Narnia Chronicle!!!! I hope you like it, too!
I've never heard of "The Inheritance". I read a collection of her short stories called From Jo's Attic. Quite a few of the stories are VERY dark -which I found surprising! However two were very good: Honor's Fortune and my favorite My Mysterious Mademoiselle. The second one is very funny! I love Louisa May Alcott's books. Have you read an old fashioned girl?
Love,
Kaitlin

Dear Moriah~
I *just* came across your blog and am glad that I had found it. :) I shall follow it as soon as I'm done writing this comment.
What a fun post! From the books you've mentioned, I have read:
Before You Meet Prince Charming (good book!), So Much More (another good one!), Raising Maidens of Virtue (a truly wonderful book!)...and I am going through the Chronicles of Narnia books at the moment and am on "Voyage of the Dawn Treader". It's my first time reading through the series and I enjoy them so far. :) I have not read the LOTR series, but my brother is planning on buying them on eBay soon and I'll, hopefully, be able to read them too. :) I've heard of the Ida Scudder biography, but have never read it...I enjoy biographies too - some of them, anyway. :)
Well, if you can, stop by my blog and please comment to let me know that you stopped by. :) I'm excited to see any future posts on "Growing in His Amazing Grace". :)

Blessings,
~Miss Raquel
