Verse of the Week

Exodus 20:12 (NIV)

"Honor your father and your mother,
so that you may live long in the land
the Lord your God is giving you"

This verse is very important. God says that if we honor our father and mother we will live long on the earth. There are many verses in the bible that are like this one, it is very important that we honor our father and mother because #1 God says it in His word, #2 they sacrifice so much for us and sometimes we aren't even aware of it, #3 we can't only honor them once a year (On Mothers Day, and Fathers Day) we need to honor them always! Don't get me wrong, I'm far from perfect in this area, but I'm striving to honor them because it pleases God and them!
