A Young Woman's Walk with God chapter 1 #1 and 2

I've started the book A Young Woman's Walk with God and I'd like to share with you what I'm reading. I can't tell you in full what the author says, so I would recommend reading the book.

Getting it all Going

The lady who wrote this, Elizabeth George, lives in Washington. She and her husband planted an apple tree and it is know producing fruit. She marvels at the apple tree as she see's it develop! She says, it wasn't all peaches and cream. They had to nurture, fertilize, water prune, train, spray, and protect the tree but there efforts have paid off.
As she thinks about it she thinks about the fruit of our lives as Christian woman, no matter what our ages. We need to be actively cultivation the fruits of the spirit into our lives so that we reflect the glory of God. It won't be easy, just like she and her husband had to work hard on there apple tree, we will have to work hard on our fruits, as well. What can we do to get the growing of the spiritual fruit going?

Finding out About the Fruit of the Spirit

Mrs. George studied about her apple tree. Just as she studied we must study God's word to better understand the fruit of the spirit and how it grows. The word "fruit" is used throughout the Bible to tell of what is on the inside of a person. If what's inside is good, than that persons fruit is good. If what's inside is rotten, than that persons fruit is bad. (Matthew 12:33,35 explains what I've said above) What sort of fruit have you seen in your actions lately?

Any person who has excepted the Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior and has Christ living within will bear good fruit. (Philippians 1:11)

(Galatians 5:22-23) The fruit of the Spirit are one. You can't say 'Oh I'll just practice patience and that will be good enough!' You have to have all nine to glorify God!

I love Elizabeth Gorge's books including this one! Have you read "A Young Woman After God's Own Heart"? That one was really good as well, and was probably my favorite. :)
