Boy-friends!

Okay, when I think of boy-friend, I don't think of what the world thinks of a "boy-friend"! I think okay a guy that's my friend. The world thinks a guy that is a loved one to a girl. Also what comes with the worlds boy-friend package is kissing, dating, walking closely to one another, broken hearts, hurtful words , and divorce! your probably thinking, What do you mean divorce it I'm even married to him. Well, sooner or later, when your married, what happened in your childhood is going to come out. You see sin is fun for a time, but then you have to live up to it. If your a young adult (teenager) and you have a boy-friend are you ready to get married?! Are you ready to take on the responsibilities of a wife and some day mother? 95% of you probably answered NO! If you answered yes let me ask you some questions! Do you know how to thoroughly clean a house, and tale care of it, do you know how to cook, do you know how to work with bills and taxes, do you know how to cook three meals a day not only for you, but for your husband! If you answered no to any of these questions, your not ready for marriage! Why have a boy-friend when your not even serious!

Eowyn liked, even loved, Aragorn! She wasn't ready for marriage though. Number one, she didn't know how to cook, and number two, she didn't know a woman's place.

Here's a little help for guys. Some people say, girls need to dress modestly! I totally agree!!!! At the same time, so do guys. It is extremely uncomfortable for me when I see a guy walking down the street with no t-shirt on and their pants half way down there rear! Please, don't be one of them! At least, wear a t-shirt.

I hope this post was helpful to y'all! 1 Timothy 4:12 says " Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an examples in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity."
Don't let people see you dressed immodestly, girls and guys! Be pure!

I got the idea for this post from my brothers blog, www. livin-for-him.blogspot.com. He did a post on girl-friends! I'd check it out.

Just a note: The phrase "boy-friend" has been extrememly disorted, so sometimes we have to accept a term for the purposes of communication!
P.S. You don't need to know all those things to get married. It can be an adventure to start out ignorant! I am not suggesting that course of action for people who want to get married, but in my Mom's case, she had a delightful time learning and expirimenting. She and Dad are now both wonderful cooks, and we enjoy hearing their stories of first-cooking disasters!

So true Moriah, that's why it's important to work on preparing for marriage now instead of wasting time dating.

I agree with your questions, but a standard I also set for myself is not only physical preparation but spiritual. Sure I can cook and clean now, but I'm far from being ready for marriage! No I won't be perfect if/when I marry, but I shouldn't be sitting around doing nothing now.

Good questions and reminders!

Great post Moriah!!
My mom and I were talking about this the other day.
How dating has become a game, and is not as serious and it should be.
She said to get to the guy as a friend FIRST, then if it seems like he would be a good dad/husband, then you can think about dating if you want.

Good point on modesty. How guys need to dress modestly too. It drives me crazy to when I see guys with no shirt on and pants that aren't where the are supposed to be.

It sounds like you're standing in the right place! GO MORIAH!

But one thing-- how do you know that Eowen can't cook? And even if she couldn't it wouldn't much matter, because she was a Lady, who would marry a king, or a stewerd. Poor girl, she probably wasn't even ALLOWED to cook!

And as it was, I think she was ready for marriage. She just honored her king so much that she didn't yet know the right guy. I think she made Faramir a pretty good wife!
